Британские музыканты, ставшие одним из ярчайших олицетворений панк-эры рубежа 1970-х-1980-х THE CLASH. Тексты панк-групп всегда носили гражданский оттенок в своей тематике, вызывающую протестную лексику, эпотирующие выражения (например, в текстах SEX PISTOLS). У THE CLASH всё более мирно и прилично. Они воспевают образ жизни. Их музыка пришлась очень кстати во время всевозможных забастовок в своё время. Немного революционности и не слишком приглядное восприятие Лондона в тексте “London Calling” (1979).
